Bangalore University
is structured into 6 faculties namely Arts,
Science, Commerce & Management, Education, Law and Engineering. It has
41 post-graduate departments, One post-graduate Centre at Kolar (started
during 1994-95), 3 constituent college, 473 affiliated colleges (of
which 88 have PG courses) and several other Centers and Directorates of
higher learning and research. It commands a student strength of nearly
3,00,000. As many as 400 Colleges and over 75 Post-Graduate Departments.
The University offers 51 Post-graduate courses.
Medical & Engineering
From 1997 all
the Medical Dental Pharmacy Nursing Homoeopathic Unani Aerospace
Medicine Mental Health and Neuro Science faculty have been transferred
to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Science (RGUHS ) Bangalore
Karnataka. From 1998 all the Engineering colleges have been transferred
to Vishvesarya Technological University Belgaum Karnataka
